Upgrading TED

YES! You can upgrade your TED to include TED Footprints - Energy, Inc.'s PC-interface software.

First you will need to identify and write down the version of firmware in your TED. To do this, unplug the display unit from the wall. Wait 15 seconds. When you plug it back in, the firmware version is going to be visible for only 3 seconds. It is located in the lower right corner of the display. It will be in the format "vX.XX," where "X" are numbers. (It will be v5.XX, v6.XX, or v7.XX.)

BEFORE deciding to upgrade, you may wish to just purchase an additional display unit that you will connect to your PC...that way you won't disturb your present TED.
IMPORTANT NOTE - if you have version 5.xx you WILL need to upgrade your TED as described below
