Footprints with Solar Features

Production, Consumption, and Net Meter

Production - TED monitors production of your wind/solar installation by measuring the amount of electricity coming from the inverter(s) into the breaker panel or utility meter.  You can use the Footprints software to view graphs, charts, and historical data of your production.  Easily export the data into a CSV (Excel) file.  Simply attach one Measuring Transmitting Unit and set of Current Transformers (MTU/CT set) to the wires coming into the breaker panel from the inverter(s).

Consumption - TED monitors how much electricity is consumed by the homeowner. Additionally, you can create up to five load profiles to monitor individual applicances in the home (such as your HVAC, hot water heater, pool pump, etc.). Enter in your specific utility rates in order to get an accurate projection of your current usage and projected monthly bill in both dollar and kW amounts.

Net Meter - TED's comprehensive Footprints Software allows users to view production and consumption individually and collectively, to allow for a net meter reading.  Easily see how much money you are saving with your wind and solar installation, when comparing the amounts with your consumption. Export any and all of the data at any time to a CSV (Excel) file.

The TED 5000 series includes Footprints software to view solar/wind Production, energy Consumption, and Net usage!  Note: You must purchase a 5002 or higher model in order to view production, consumption, and net usage independently.

TED can show either net metering, production, or consumption in dollar-view, kilowatt-view, or CO2-view.  When the net amount is a negative number, there is more energy being produced than consumed.  All solar/wind readings will be negative, because energy is being produced.  When the net amount reading is positive, energy is being consumed.

Each number located next to the "NET" button above represents a different Measuring Transmitting Unit (MTU).  In the first example to the left, one MTU is located on the main breaker panel (consumption), and the other MTU is reading the solar information (production).

The second image to the left is a graph of the past 24 hours.  During the day, the net usage and production are below zero because more energy is being produced than consumed, and electricity is being sent back to the grid.  During the evening, the net usage rises above zero because more energy is being consumed, while the solar installation is not producing during nighttime.

TED can provide countless charts and graphs that show anywhere from second-by-second to yearly data!

All data can be exported in Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Day, or Month.
